Justin Pierce opted to strike out on his own and help find places for local, original-material producing musicians to hone their craft in live-audience settings. In doing so, the Port Republic resident recently launched the fledgling promotional/booking company JP Entertainment, which will host its inaugural event on Friday night, Dec. 2, at Le Grand Fromage in Atlantic City.

“I was absolutely thrilled that Malcolm Tent mentioned my past association as a Music Writer for the Whoot! in his profile, in the current "Looking Back" issue of the Atlantic City Weekly...the town has come a l-o-n-g way since I moved from Atlantic City to Los Angeles (in 1989), but I still keep in touch with many of my old-time friends from there...congratulations to everyone who was mentioned in the story, and if anyone sees Lew Steiner, PLEASE tell him Doug Deutsch says a big Hello!!!”

“listened to your Tuesday February 1st break at 8:30 PM when you made mention of a UFO sighting involving the late Sonny Schwartz. You cited the year being 1976. Wrong! I remember that sighting very well as my father roused me and my siblings to drive up to the boardwalk to try and spot it. It was in the early am hours of October 15th,1975 and it had nothing to do with clouds but rather an optical reflection on the water from a spotlight emanating from some fishing boats supposedly out on the water despite the lateness of the hour. There was an article in the AC press about it the next day. Maybe you should proof read about these obscure events before you report about them on the air? Sing yourself a song while you're at it.”
