Jet Blue flight attendants, don't get any ideas.

If you're thinking about quitting your job, you might not get as lucky as Steven Slater, the infamous Jet Blue flight attendant who quit his job prior to an Aug. 9 flight after getting into a heated argument with a passenger.

According to reports and described by US magazine, Slater quit, "gave an expletive-laden rant over the loudspeaker, activated the emergency chute and slid down with two beers in hand."

Slater has become a folk hero of late and takes the theme of the great David Allan Coe tune "Take This Job and Shove It" to new "heights."

Somehow Slater got the V.I.P. treatment during Barry Manilow's Aug. 14 concert at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.

Slater, a "Fanilow" as they call Manilow fans, is pictured with Manilow after the Atlantic City show on the US magazine Web site.

According to the site, Slater is a huge fan.
