ATLANTIC CITY — Still several months away from completion, plenty has already been published about the resort’s forthcoming super casino Revel.
That primarily has to do with all the spectacular amenities the $2.4 billion, 6.3 million square foot beachfront property will provide — including over 1,100 guest rooms, 46 retail shops, 12 restaurants, three nightclubs, a 28,000-square foot spa, a 5,500-seat theater and a 150,000-square-foot gaming floor, to name a few.
But part of it also has to do with the fact that Revel, whose address is north of the Showboat, making it the city's first casino north of the Caesars Entertainment property — Caesars Ent. owns Caesars, Bally's, Showboat and Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City — stays ahead of the curve when it comes to keeping those who want to remain “in the know” informed of its progress.
Earlier this summer a visitors’ center opened up on the Boardwalk side of the property.
Less than two weeks ago a huge media event took place that included a guided tour of the under-construction interior, preceded by a speech from Gov. Chris Christie to the construction workers and media about what Revel’s arrival will mean to the resort’s economic future.
On Monday, Aug. 22, came the news of a new online site called the Revel Media Center, where new information about ongoing development of the project will be made available for distribution through the media, including video footage, high-resolution photos, PR contacts and a sign-up for instant electronic updates.
In conjunction with the launch of the media center, Revel is revealing its “webisode series,” which will tell the story of Revel’s creation with intimate looks into the planning, vision and details of the highly anticipated resort.
The first webisode is called “Built From the Sand Up,” and is currently featured in the media center’s video gallery.
A new webisode will launch each Wednesday morning, and updates can also be found on Revel’s newly created Facebook page.
"It was a little bit of a culture shock coming from Las Vegas, as you can imagine. But then when I actually spent some time [in Atlantic City] and spent some time in competitors' casinos, I was pleasantly surprised and I feel that, you know, being involved in Revel is a very exciting piece of history for Atlantic City and I think will change how people look and perceive the market."
Monday, April 2, was announced as the starting date of an eight-week preview to Atlantic City’s forthcoming $2.4-billion beachfront destination, Revel
Revel reportedly outbid another Atlantic City Casino to book the popular pop rock band, but it’s unlikely they’ll actually christen the new showroom.
Revel continues to back up its claim that the property will be a mega-casino complex with the announcement that Food Network Iron Chef Jose Garces, acclaimed chef and owner of eight restaurants in Philadelphia, and four more in Chicago and Scottsdale, Ariz. is set to open the doors to three highly anticipated restaurants at Revel.
Recent developments in Atlantic City have left the city in a good news/bad news cycle that leaves both room for hope and pessimism in the city at the same time.
“Showboat has always dared to be different, and the sheer spontaneity of the House of Blues casino is reflective in our overall success. It creates a party-pit atmosphere like no other.”
From the early days of the city through the 1950s, the Inlet was a solid working-class neighborhood buttressed by summer rentals and home to many of the city’s workers.
Word on the street is that the long-awaited resumption of construction of the Revel Casino Hotel complex in Atlantic City could begin in the very near future. I realize this has been stated before, but this time it looks like it’s for real. I certainly hope so. Remember how the city had a lift when it was thought that Revel had its financing in place a few months ago? I can only tell you that the rumor machine is busier now working on this project than at any other time since it first came to town. Keep your fingers and toes crossed. Update from the blogs 4/2/10... 200 Numbers Don’t Add Up A story that appeared in this week’s issue of GGB News, an excellent source of news about the gaming industry both nationally and internationally, produced an interesting story based on...
"Revel Entertainment said Thursday that it has secured the final $1 billion-plus it needs to finish its half-built casino on the Atlantic City Boardwalk."
While some unforeseen snares related to the rocky economy have made the grand-opening of the Revel casino project even more anticipated than when it first broke ground, visitors can now get a peek as to what the property will offer via a visitor’s lounge, scheduled to open today, Friday, July 1.
“This is about jobs, it’s about getting people back to work, it’s about bringing this city back into where it feels, once again, like the preeminent entertainment resort on the East Coast."
In the world of gaming, ups and downs are part of the enticement. One moment you are down to your last dollar, the next minute you hit it big. That equation can apply to a casino property as well. Tropicana Casino and Resort, celebrating its 30th anniversary in Atlantic City this month, has demonstrated that the roll of the dice can be both favorable and unfavorable over the course of decades
When Revel Entertainment opens Atlantic City’s first new casino resort in nine years on April 2, CEO Kevin DeSanctis will be borrowing an entertainment page right out of his old Mohegan Sun playbook. Revel’s guests can expect to find free entertainment in a venue known as The Social, an open, 700-capacity room smack in the center of the gaming floor.

First of all we went to A.C for a seven day vacation when we decided to visit the new Revel. As we were approaching the welcome center we were assaulted by some children with water bottles. The kids the. Ran rite inside of the welcome center doors so I followed the. Inside. When I get inside they are hiding behind a Revel employee named Shaentell or Sheantel. Whatever her name was it was spelled wrong on her badge. Anyway I tell the lady what the children were doing.mshe turns to her daughter and says oh well now you goda go home hurry up run home. So the kids were an employee of the welcome centers own children. She never even repremanded these kids she told them to run? I then ask to speak with a supervisor and they said there is none.
