Who was selected the Best Bartender? Best Local Group? Which venue was named Best Dance Club? Where did our readers choose as the Best Place to Cure a Hangover?
ATLANTIC CITY — It’s that time of the year again. The votes have been counted and the winners have been named for the 4th annual ACWeekly.com Readers’ Choice Nightlife Awards. Every year, since 2009, the best in the local nightlife industry have been honored by our readers to receive awards in a myriad of categories ranging from Best Dance Club to Best DJ.
This year, several new categories were added, including Best Place to Cure a Hangover, Worst Place to Bring Your Mom, and the Best LGBT Party Place. The winners, announced for the first time here, will be celebrated at our annual awards-ceremony bash, which continues to become a bigger, more extravagant event with each passing year.
This year’s bash on Thursday, Jan. 26, promises to be the best one yet featuring a special show chronicling the ever-changing live music eras in nightlife — which is a natural fit for the hosting venue, the Night Fever Dance Club at Resorts Casino Hotel.
In addition to this year’s festivities, which will bring out the who’s-who of the regional nightlife scene, Resorts is offering a room special, which includes free entrance into the party after 7pm, $20 in food credit and $10 in slot cash. To get the deal ($69), visit Resortsac.com and use the code: PACNA2. The deal is only good for Thursday night, Jan. 26, so book your rooms today if you want to stay.
Don’t miss out on joining us in celebrating all of the top nightlife action of the area. Special thanks from Atlantic City Weekly go out to everybody who continues to support the local nightlife scene, the thousands who voted, our host venue Night Fever Dance Club, show producer Mark A. Dahl, as well as the team at Resorts Casino Hotel, which helped us put the awards party together.
Now, as you’ve been anticipating, here are your 2012 AC Weekly Readers’ Choice Nightlife Awards winners. For more on past and present awards and info regarding voting for 2013, as well as video and photos from the event, visit acweekly.com/nightlife.

The entrepreneurial drive and outside-the-box disposition that Resorts’ late CEO Dennis Gomes was so well known for manifested itself in the Pro Bar — the first in-casino gay nightclub in Atlantic City’s history that opened a year ago in tandem with the celebrity- and female-impersonation revue show Believe: Divas in a Man’s World.

Missed the St. Patty’s Day Parade in A.C. on March 10? Not to fret, there’s lots more happening to celebrate this — the real St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The new kid on the block (until Revel opens next month), Golden Nugget, is hosting a “Wear Green, Win Green” party on St. Patrick’s Day (Saturday, March 17) at the Live Bar. It will feature a Naughty Leprechaun Contest, live music by local favorite rockers Seven Stone, and DJ Michael James spinning hits between live sets. The Irish Pub is at the base of an old (circa 1905) Victorian-style hotel building, and has been run by Dick and Cathy Burke since 1972. Entering during daylight hours may require an adjustment to the change in light, or lack thereof, but once done you’ll see that this is no cookie-cutter pub replica.
Pride abounded during Dusk’s guided tour and ribbon-cutting ceremony inside Caesars during the summer of 2009 — and with good reason. The multi-tiered, 10,000-square-foot nightclub was cutting-edge to the core, more spacious and designed differently than anything Atlantic City had seen to that point, and bolstered by a top-flight lighting-and-sound system and some of the best house and special-guest DJs in the business.
