Because of this summer’s weather, expect beautiful fall foliage, more expensive than usual apples at local you-pick-em farms and cool breezes along the area’s boardwalks. From Cape May and Wildwood to Ocean City and Atlantic City, autumn is in the air — in the migrating monarchs, pumpkins on the porch, long shadows and earlier sunsets, rough surf along the shoreline, school days, football, and Halloween candy on display (not to mention Christmas!). Even the dunes can be beautiful this time of year with their seagrasses blowing in the wind. Down by Brigantine, where the bay and the Atlantic come together, waters are calm and can appear as a dark sheet of granite. Once the cranes and boulders are gone, the view in front of Revel will be an endless panorama of sand and ocean waves rolling in one behind the other.
