Need Extra Bread?

These days, I can’t turn the corner without someone telling me about some type of relationship marketing company (RMC). And if you’re not currently hooked up with one — not of the eHarmony variety, read on — then it is sometimes hard to grasp the concept of some of these types of (usually) web-based companies.

Most times the income part or even the benefit of the product can seem too good to be true. I was one of those skeptical people before — but then I figured what’s the worst that can happen?

I took a shot with a company that sells a health product and boy did I do the right thing. Not only has it helped me as well as many people in my life in terms of health, but now I am also earning residual income.

Many of us think that all of these “work-from-home”-type companies are pyramid schemes. Half of us don’t even know what that term means, but we know that it’s always better to be cautious.

Back in the day when these schemes first started, the guy at the top always made more money than the guy at the bottom. But what corporation is not structured that way? Think of RMCs like this: If you put 110 percent of your efforts into your current job, would you get paid 110 percent more? Well, with relationship marketing you get paid by how much effort you put in and most of these companies are not spending millions on advertising because they believe that word of mouth is the best form of promotion and so they pay you instead. Anybody looking to make some extra cash should listen to a friend, neighbor or family member who wants to tell you about one. Take a chance, but make sure to follow these crucial steps:

One, do your research. Two, make sure that you trust the person telling you about the company. Three, do something that you believe in. Four, be able to handle rejection. Five, understand the company’s compensation plan. Six, don’t be afraid to ask questions. And finally, the most important, make sure that you have a good support structure, where people above you are willing to help you with your business.

It is imperative that you have a knowledgeable and proactive leader, because many of us get discouraged easily and it becomes a lot of work to keep up everything by yourself. These businesses are a smart way to earn extra income and many of them are proven to work.

Whitney’s Radar

To be or not to be — on the guest list that is. After an experience this past holiday weekend I realized how important it is to get on the VIP list when going to a club in Atlantic City. In one respect it was cool getting into a local club right away with no cover when there were lines around the block.

On the other hand, however, it’s sad when you see people you know who have been waiting in line for hours and are willing to pay and still have not had the chance to get in. Where should these venues draw the line? Long story short, I got three others and myself into a local hot spot on Saturday night without a blink of an eye — but our group had nine other friends anxiously waiting to get in — and after close to three hours waiting, they never got in! Paying customers! To me, this seems unacceptable — no matter the venue. These places are a lot of fun and definitely something special in the Atlantic City area, so we should all try to portray that and make anyone who is willing to wait and pay feel special as well.

“I must say after reading this article on marketing that Whitney wrote about you have to believe what she is saying; in other words do your homework. Everyone knows that we are in a down economy or are we? If we all just contribute a little more effort and positive attitude towards our self ability we can overcome this somewhat down economy. In turn we then can add more bread to the table, and just then maybe some butter to go with that bread!
Have a great day!”
