The Occupy Atlantic City group's organizers tell this columnist that earlier on Friday, Nov. 18, they were told by the Atlantic City Police Department: "No tents or structures are to be put up in Atlantic City or arrests will ensue immediately. Any organizers will face civil penalties levied against them."
The group announced via the ACWeekly.com Web site their intentions to rally on Saturday, Nov. 19, in Atlantic City on the site of the former Sands casino, property which is owned by Pinnacle Entertainment.
"It seemed to be a good cop, bad cop thing going." someone who attended the meeting stated.
According to this attendee, another sentiment included that: "The [police] force is glad the occupied movement took so long to camp in Atlantic City. Had they started camping in the beginning of the movement, chances are good, they would have been allowed."
Eyewitness accounts indicate that Pinnacle has posted "No Trespassing" signs on the lot within the last day.
It has been further identified that the parks in Atlantic City close at 10pm in light of the planned "encampment" by Occupy Atlantic City and its supporters.
The occupiers will be allowed to peacefully assemble during the day, they have been told by local authorities. They will not be allowed to camp overnight on city property or privately held lots, such as the former Sands site.
The first Occupy encampment in New York City started on Sept. 17, 2011, with five tents. Two months later, that number eventually grew to thousands.
It is reported that more than 1,500 Occupy movements have been started in the two months since the first encampment.

Since then, I’ve been thinking. I had spent the last few weeks covering Occupy Atlantic City. Suddenly, I was smack dab in the middle of Wall Street. And, like most Americans, I sat back and tried to balance the good from both sides. It’s why so many of us have money invested in Wall Street, as we support the messengers of change "occupying" it.
“You can disagree with the way the protests are going about things, but agree that Wall Street is out of control. When the bottom falls out the tip doesn’t realize that they’re screwed too.”
In relation to Occupy movement's two month anniversary...
Are you there? Want to share your thoughts and photos?
"Please join us — as history will be made in Atlantic City and we want every one of you, your families and your friends, to be a part of it."
The statement, which will be released no later than Thursday, Nov. 17, will state, I am told by the organizers, where and when they intend to Occupy Atlantic City.
It was announced the encampment and occupation of Atlantic City would begin this coming Saturday, Nov. 19, at a location to be announced.
“Atlantic City, Vegas, Reno, Wall Street is the real casino,” shouted protesters, “We are the 99% and so are you.”

“it's a peaceful rally, come on down and hear about our messages and let us hear yours. I'm sending this comment from my phone, at the scene. It's a beautifull Fall day in America.”

“If you are protesting or having a rally without permits...your breaking the law.
If you are disrupting the rights of others...your breaking the law.
If you occupy private property without consent...your breaking the law.
If you disregard any noise ordinances...you are breaking the law.
If you stop tourist from enjoying their vacations or their night out...you are breaking the law.
If you leave a mess...you are breaking the law
And if it cost the city, the county or the state any money to clean your mess up, or if law enforcement is needed....all your doing is using the financial resources of that city, county and state, that could be used for better things.”
