Throughout history, the younger generations have been the ones to notice and seize upon opportunities around them, driving the world forward and leaving their mark forever emblazoned upon this world.
In honor of Atlantic City Weekly's just unvieled Top 40 Under 40 lineup of the most dynamic regional leaders of the Atlantic City area, we're bringing you 20 of today's pioneering young people who are shaping and changing the world.
From technology and Internet marketing gurus to truth tellers and new media trailblazers, we're bringing you some of the most ingenious minds of the present day.
Despite some really rough economic hardships, many of these young people have taken it upon themselves to grab hold of the prospects around them and contribute to this ever-changing and fast-paced world.
We believe that it’s only when the younger generation works together alongside the older generation, building on what's already been established, can the reigns of advancement be grasped and the world progress onward.
Here are some of the folks that are not only helping to develop our world, but are shaping its future. If you haven't already, get familiar with some of these faces, they have been game changers.
1.) Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, age 27

Whether you want to admit it or not, he dominates a huge part of our lives. However, he pissed a lot of people off with Timeline.
2.) Sean Parker, created Napster, age 33

This guy changed the game when it comes to music and trailblazed the way for the guy below.
3.) Daniel Ek, founder of Spotify, age 28

Did you just randomly discover that one of your colleagues is a Lady Gaga fan? You can thank this guy. Reigning from Sweden, Ek launched Spotify, which allows people to stream music on their desktops and mobile devices

5.) James O’Keefe, New media journalist, age 27

Exposing corruption and misconduct by producing several game-changing audio and video recordings of staged encounters with public figures and workers in various organizations, this guy is most famous for the takedown of the ACORN organization.
6.) Julian Assange, founder of WikiLeaks, age 40

A regular James Bond hero or villain? You decide. This Australian computer programmer, political Internet activist, journalist and truth seeker has exposed some of the world’s biggest and best kept secrets.
7.) Taylor Swift, Goddess, age 22

You might have recognized her when she was young playing little gigs at Coffee Talk in downtown Stone Harbor, New Jersey, today this role model is one of the most famous American country pop singer and songwriters.
8.) Pete Cashmore, founder of Mashable, age 26

He didn’t want to get out of bed, so he created a Web site that aggregated stories about social media, and called it Mashable.Today, CNN has offered to buy his site for $200 million.
9.) David Karp, founder of Tumblr, age 25

This Manhattan entrepreneur dropped out of high school and taught himself. His work led to the creation of the short-form blogging platform empire that is Tumblr.
10.) Dennis Crowley, founder of Foursquare, age 35

Annoyed by people “checking in” to different places? You have this guy to thank. However, his invention has helped build, promote and connect people and businesses.
11.) Jenna Marbles, YouTube sensation, age 25

With a master’s degree in sports psychology and counseling, Jenna Marbles is better known for her wacky and hilarious YouTube videos that have taken the Web by storm.
12.) Kevin Systrom, founder of Instagram, age 27

The iPhone was one of the biggest game changers, but Systrom seized upon that and created Instagram, a free photo sharing application that allows users to take photos, apply various digitial filters and share it via the social networks.
13.) Larry Page, CEO and co-founder of Google, age 38

From Lansing, Michigan, this American computer scientist and Internet entrepreneur helped co-found Google. His personal wealth is an estimated $18.7 billion.
14.) Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter, age 35

He’s an American software architect and businessman and is widely known as the creator of Twitter. He is also the founder and CEO of Square, a mobile payments company.
15.) Bobby Jindal, Louisiana Governor, age 40

The first Indian-American governor in the United States and former member of the United States House of Representatives, this Republican governor is currently serving his second term.
16.) Marco Rubio, Senator of Florida, age 40

Born to Cuban immigrants and raised in Miami, Rubio is the junior United States Florida Senator. There are rumors floating around that he could be a vice president pick for the Republican nomination.
17.) David Rhodes, President of CBS News, age 37

As of February of last year, Rhodes has served as president of CBS news and oversees all network newsgathering and breaking news coverage.
18.) Andrew Mason, founder of Groupon, age 31

From Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Mason went on to create the deal-of-the-day Web site that is Groupon, featuring discounted gift certificates for local and national companies.
19.) Blake Mycoskie, founder of Toms Shoes, age 34

An entrepreneur from Arlington, Texas, Mycoskie founded Toms Shoes, which produces lightweight shoes based on Argentine alpargata design and with every product sold, donates a pair to a person in need.
20.) Tim Tebow, American football player, age 24

This American football player is best known for publicly exemplifying his Christianity through sharing his faith with fans.
