The menorahs and Christmas trees are lit all over the region and decorations, Salvation Army bells and holiday music are everywhere you turn. By the time our next issue comes out it will be Christmas Eve, so that means only about a week left for your holiday shopping (unless of course you don’t celebrate Christmas).

Inside this week’s issue we have several holiday related items for you.

First, this week’s cover story by Lori Hoffman, details the holiday revue show now playing at the Hilton, Spirit of Christmas, which, according to Hoffman, is a an “excellent, family-friendly option” with “a great set, terrific, talented dancers, excellent singers and a ton of holiday cheer as promised in the title.”

Also inside, columnist Whitney Ullman dishes out some gift-giving advice for the men in your life. According to Ullman, a recent unscientific poll of local men proved to go against common wisdom when it comes to buying presents for guys.

Columnist Ray Tyler breaks out his annual holiday wish list and urges us not to forget about the needy during this time of the year.

Too tired to cook after all that shopping? Food writer Frank Gabriel offers some great advice on local establishments that offer prepared food items, including party trays and the like, with both your patience and pocketbook in mind.

Even the Geator gets in on the holiday action with information about a special party this Sunday at Memories and a bit of Santa Claus trivia.

You’ll find details about this year’s (or is it next year’s?) First Night celebration in Ocean City, and you can find out about all the headliners that will be in town over the holidays inside the Atlantic City casinos.

Can’t find this week’s regular nightlife feature by Ray Schweibert? Well, unfortunately, we couldn’t fit it inside the print issue, but you can find it here.

Happy shopping.

“What did you do to Pinky Kravitz? Shame on you for forcing him out.
Other than Jakie Cohen, Slottie and Jules this man was the last icon of
Atlantic City. Your paper will not survive this travesty, it'll blow away in the
wind like 5North. Do not be surprised if people show up to protest this move
at your offices. Bring back The Whoot.”

“Joel, thanks for your comment. To set the record straight, Pinky chose to leave the paper after more than 20 years to join another local paper. It was completely his decision. See his letter here:
