The Top 40 Under 40 nominations are being accepted via acweekly.com/top40 through Jan. 31, 2012.
It’s that time of year again to nominate someone who you feel is a community leader, volunteer, successful entrepreneur or executive from either the public or private sector who is under 40 years of age.
Yes that’s right, it’s the eighth annual Top 40 Under 40. I have to tell you that as an honoree in 2008, it was a very humbling and amazing experience at the same time.
What a great achievement and honor to be amongst such a dynamic group of individuals. Everyone from the nominees to the attendees are always thrilled to be at the celebration party at Borgata, which this year will be held on Friday, March 30 at MIXX.
A few years ago, I became the president of the Greater Atlantic City Jaycees and in turn helped to spearhead the Top 40 Under 40 program and event, along with other volunteers from our organization as well as volunteers from Atlantic City Weekly.
Every year the Top 40 is bigger and better and I wish all of the Top 40‘ers and nominees — past, present and future — much success, and a big congratulations in advance to this year’s honorees! Submissions are being acepted at acweekly.com/top40 through Jan. 31, 2012.
On Thursday, Dec. 1, the Greater Atlantic City Jaycees and Atlantic City Weekly invite you as a VIP to the annual Top 40 Under 40 kick-off party at the Comedy Stop Café & Cabaret inside The Quarter at the Tropicana.
It’s a complimentary evening of networking and fun with free appetizers and a cash bar. Networking begins at 7pm and a comedy show starts at 9pm. You can either RSVP to acjaycees@yahoo.com or just show up and bring a guest.
The Greater Atlantic City Jaycees is for professionals between the ages of 18-40. Earlier this month I had the pleasure of attending an excellent fundraiser for Gilda’s Club of South Jersey. The event was held inside the Hard Rock Café at the Trump Taj Mahal and sponsored by many great organizations including A.C.’s Masterpiece Advertising.
The place was jam-packed with the who’s who of our area along with Hard Rock International chairman and Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen and his wife Isabel.
Everyone was rocking out to the B-Street Band along with a guest appearance by the Almost Angels. The auction items were over-the-top and the coolest part was that all guests were given an iTouch device to bid on the items. It was definitely a hi-tech and fabulous event.
Giving back during the holidays is a given, and so far many of us have donated our time, food, money and clothes to those in need. Well, now is your chance to donate any new and gently used books.
For the seventh year, 40 of our region’s most dynamic young leaders have been honored by the Greater Atlantic City Jaycees and Atlantic City Weekly. Some of them are community leaders and volunteers, some are entrepreneurial, others are extraordinary talented and inspiring. One thing they all have in common is that people from around the region nominated them to be one of this year’s Top 40 Under 40. Once again, we are excited to present this year’s honorees inside this annual issue. Our community is a richer one to live in thanks to them.
