Giving back during the holidays is a given, and so far many of us have donated our time, food, money and clothes to those in need. Well, now is your chance to donate any new and gently used books.

The Chapters for Charity student-run fundraising group would love for you to drop off your books at the Alcove Center for Grieving Children and Families and Hi-Tech Hair and Nails in Northfield. There will be a book sale held inside the cafeteria of the Egg Harbor Township High School on Saturday, Dec. 10, from 10:30am-4pm. If you want an early start to browse through the titles, there will be a pre-sale from 9-10am with a $5 donation.

The founder of this organization, Caroline Tesone, wanted to find a way to bridge together volunteerism and literacy in our community.

“By asking my fellow students and the community to help in this cause, it will make everyone more aware of the importance of literacy in our youths, while at the same time being able to give back to a very important organization,” says Tesone.

All proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Alcove, which offers a program that has helped Tesone on a personal level, as she went through the grieving process due to the loss of someone close to her.

For more information call 601-8989 or find them on Facebook at Chapters for Charity.
