Start off your holiday season by attending the free Holiday Musical Light Show at Tropicana Atlantic City, every day, every hour on the hour starting at noon in the Quarter. It features a 35-foot tree blinking with lights that are synchronizes to festive music. After the show, head to Tango’s or 10 North for a drink like the “Holiday Getaway,” made with lime juice, mint leaves, sugar, white rum, coconut rum, canned coconut milk and sparkling water; or the “Sex on a Snow Flake,” with rum, coconut cream, ice cubes and shredded coconut. Historic Smithville Village returns this year with its holiday light show, held daily from dark to 8:30 p.m. It features more than 50,000 Christmas lights suspended over Lake Meone, all dancing in time to holiday songs. 3. Check out a chocolate tree. There are many wonderfully decorated trees this year, but few are as unique as Borgata’s 12-foot chocolate tree. According to Executive Pastry Chef Thaddeus DuBois, it’s a real crowd pleaser. He says, “When people realize (it’s) chocolate, they all want to take a picture in front of it.” While you’re there, stop by the bar at Wolfgang Puck for a drink as red as Santa’s suite — the Crimson Rocks with Herradura Reposado, tequila, fresh citrus, clover honey syrup, cayenne and flamed rosemary. 4. Enjoy some window displays. Get a jump on your holiday shopping, while supporting local business by taking a stroll down Hammonton’s main street. With gorgeous window displays and twinkling snowflakes on every light pole, you’ll feel like you’re in a Christmas card.
