Welcome to year number four. We started 50 Bites+ in 2015 (back when it was just plain ol’ 50 Bites) with a simple concept: to give folks a chance to taste the 50 best Bites of food available anywhere in Atlantic City. Each year since then, it has grown to include more Bites around Atlantic County, and this year we came through with 69 in total. Why? Because while 50 was a good start, we knew there was more great food to be devoured.

Of course more Bites means bigger challenges. How can you possibly try each one? What if you forget about one? How could you live with yourself all year? (Answer: you couldn’t). Luckily, we thought about all these potential issues and solved them on the spot. If you want to know how to map out the easiest route to culinary bliss, simply follow along on our 50 Bites+ navigation guide right here each week throughout the promotion.

Ready? Good. Let’s go.

This week we will focus on the trio of casinos that don’t reside on the Boardwalk. Each has great Bites to be sampled and we plan to conquer them all.

We begin our journey at Golden Nugget Atlantic City where five different Bites can be found under one roof. First up is Lillie’s Noodles, Asian Cuisine and Sushi, where the samurai roll kicks things off with an awesome taste of the Far East. From there we head to Grotto, where their fried eggplant chips will leave you wondering “why don’t all places have this on the menu?”

Vic & Anthony’s is up next, the spot where those legendary maple-glazed quail wings live year round. You may recognize this Bite from last year. It’s back. Why? Because it’s simply too good to replace. After the wings it’s off to the Chart House, for their light and delicious take on fish tacos. While there, we take a break, order a cocktail and enjoy the view of the marina from their floor to ceiling windows before heading over to Bill’s Bar & Burger for the final Bite in this building, a pair of sliders so good you may think you are dreaming. And in a way, you are — 50 Bites+ is indeed a dream come true.

But while Golden Nugget may be conquered, there are more Bites to be bitten. Off we go to Harrah’s Resort for a quick one two punch courtesy of neighbors Veracruz and Martorano’s. Martorano’s is up first, and their mini cheesesteak will make you forget you ever heard about anybody named Pat or Geno. Veracruz is stop two, where their mahi fish taco works as the perfect complement to one of their outstanding margaritas.

Two casinos down, one to go as we head to Borgata for the last two bites of the day. Bite number one is the raw oyster at Metropolitan, a briney morsel of deliciousness which leaves just enough room in your stomach for the final Bite of the day (and one of the only desserts on the entire 50 Bites+ list), Borgata Baking Company’s French Macaron – a perfect ending to an utterly delicious day.

See you next week!
