World Long Drive kicks off its summer stretch of the season next week, with the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bash which will culminate live on GOLF Channel on 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 5. The event will take place at Atlantic City Country Club for the second consecutive year, in partnership with the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, and it marks the third of six televised World Long Drive Tour events in 2019, culminating with the Volvik World Long Drive Championship in September.

GOLF Channel’s live telecast next Wednesday (6-8 p.m. ET, also airing live on Sky Sports Golf in Europe) will feature the four women and eight men having advanced from preliminary rounds earlier in the competition.

“The CRDA is pleased to partner with the World Long Drive Association for the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bash again this year,” said CRDA Executive Director Matt Doherty. “GOLF Channel’s live telecast of the event’s conclusion will be a great opportunity to showcase our destination to the World Long Drive audience, and to golf enthusiasts everywhere.”

The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bash commences the summer stretch of the World Long Drive season, followed by the Roc City Rumble (Rochester, N.Y., July 24) and the Tennessee Big Shots benefiting Niswonger Children’s Hospital (Kingsport, Tenn., Aug. 12), leading up to the Volvik World Long Drive Championship (Sept. 3-4).

The Open Division field in Atlantic City will consist of current No. 1 ranked competitor in the world Justin James (Jacksonville, Fla.), returning to competition after missing the previous event due to a back injury; No. 2 Ryan Steenberg (Rochester, N.Y.), winner of the Exchange Celebrating Service: Fort Jackson event in South Carolina earlier this month; and Maurice Allen (Pine Hills, Fla.), No. 3, and reigning Volvik World Long Drive champion. The Women’s Division is led by No. 1 ranked, defending (and three-time) world champion Phillis Meti (Auckland, New Zealand), along with five-time world champion Sandra Carlborg (Alingsas, Sweden), who will look to defend her 2018 victory at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bash.
