Add to that the closing of another casino and MGM Resorts International’s entry into the market.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa imposes a resort fee, becoming the last casino to do so.


Boardwalk Saloon opens at Bally’s Atlantic City’s Wild Wild West Casino.


Borgata opens Premier Nightclub in the location formerly occupied by MIXX.

AC Snack Shack opens in the location formerly occupied by Wild Wings at Wild Wild West.


After extensive renovations, the Temple Tower at Caesars Atlantic City is renamed the Forum Tower. Next door, several floors of the Bally’s Tower were renovated and rebranded as Jubilee rooms. Further down the Boardwalk, Tropicana Atlantic City completes its second $40 million round of renovations with updated rooms in both the Havana and South Towers.

Guy’s Bar-B-Que Joint opens at the Wild Wild West.


Tropicana opens Ivan Kane’s Kiss Kiss a Go-Go in the location formerly occupied by The Comedy Stop.


In the area formerly occupied by its Festival Park, Borgata opens its new outdoor pool and Beer Garden, as well as the Marketplace Eatery in the lower level area once home to its Food Court.


Borgata officially becomes part of the MGM Resorts International “family” after Boyd Gaming Corp. sells its 50 percent stake in the hotel, casino and spa.

Golden Nugget Atlantic City launches first online gaming platform with live dealers.


Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort closes.


Bally’s, Caesars and Harrah’s Resort become the first to introduce skill-based gaming.

Voters overwhelmingly reject a plan to allow two casinos in North Jersey.

On January 1 several people will go home with extra cash in their pockets, and five individuals will drive home in a new vehicle.

Between 4 and 8 p.m. Golden Nugget will give away $50,000. The grand prize is $10,000, with 21 other winners sharing the balance.

Borgata is giving away 1,717 slot dollars every 17 minutes between noon and 7 p.m.

At Tropicana, five individuals are guaranteed to win a 2017 Chevy Trax. Drawings will be held at 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 p.m.

Resorts will give away a 2017 Mercedes CLA 250 at 6 p.m.
