There are a hundred reasons to be pumped for Burger Bash 3. After all, it’s one of the most deliciously fun parties of the year! And to make sure the party stays rockin,’ party band Eleven Eleven will play. If you haven’t seen Eleven Eleven live, you are in for a show like no other. We had a chance to chat with the band’s lead singer Leo Johnson, who seems as excited as we are for the big day.
Atlantic City Weekly: What makes Eleven Eleven stand out from other party bands in the area?
Leo Johnson: Eleven Eleven is compiled of four solo artists who have a deep love of our craft who blend together to bring the kind of musical experience that not only entertains, but makes magic that touches each individual fan.
ACW: You guys are performing at Burger Bash. What burgers are you looking forward to trying?
LJ: I am a true burger-holic. Burger Bash is a one-day field trip to the pearly gates. I plan on having 11 of each. Wish me luck!
ACW: What can fans expect from your show at Burger Bash?
LJ: Our fans can expect an experience, not just another show. We are revved up and ready to party, and we are also committed to connecting with each and every listener.
ACW: If you could perform with any artist living or dead who would it be and why?
LJ: Hands down, for me, it would have to be CeeLo Green. His vivid stage presence speaks to the colorful performer I always aspire to be. Besides that, “CeeLo featuring Leo” rolls off the tongue!
ACW: What record made you want to be a musician?
LJ: Michael Jackson’s “Off the Wall.” I can remember how I could never get those songs out of my head as a little boy. Singing along always made me feel like I was on stage with Michael. I had no doubt that was where I wanted to be.
ACW: Tell us about the best moment you have ever had on stage.
LJ: My most memorable performance on stage would have to be my debut with Eleven Eleven. The hair on my arms stood up, and I could feel the electricity in the air. It literally felt like the stars aligned and this was exactly where I needed to be. The craziest part is, I’m really blessed to have that every time I’m on stage with my Eleven Eleven brothers.
We try to stay humble here at A.C. Weekly, we really do. But with an event like Burger Bash, it’s hard not to be just a wee bit proud of what …
ACW: If you were to build the perfect burger what would you put on it?
LJ: If I were to build the perfect burger, it would have to be as big as a wedding cake. Each tier would have all of my favorite fixings — onions, tomatoes, mayo, lettuce, peppers, bacon, eggs, fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks — everything that would probably make a huge mess. The messier the better! It’s my dream, right?
