It was just announced that Resorts Casino Hotel will team up with DraftKings as its licensing partner to bring sports betting to the 40-year-old casino.
DraftKings is a sports-tech and media entertainment company that is currently best known as a platform for fans to engage in fantasy sports. Currently the company has more than 10 million users.
DraftKings will utilize Resorts' gaming license in order to bring its sports book to Atlantic City. Plans are in place for a sports betting app as well as a web-based version, pending the adoption of state laws legalizing sports betting in New Jersey.
“We are at a pivotal moment in the development of sports betting in the U.S.,” said Morris Bailey, owner of Resorts Casino Hotel in a recent press release. “We are delighted to be able to have DraftKings utilize our gaming license in New Jersey. DraftKings continues to be at the forefront of sports entertainment innovation, and today’s announcement is the first step in being able to offer customers in New Jersey the most dynamic sports betting platform.”
