Venturas Green House

Since 1984 there have been many faces that have come and gone at Ventura’s Greenhouse. Whether people have worked at the establishment or frequent it, most know of our place. How could you miss the restaurant when its neighbor is Lucy the Elephant? Ventura’s Greenhouse is where regular customers know there’s always a seat for them, and long for the roast pork sandwiches, long hots, mussels, pizza, rum runners and voodoo buckets. It’s also a hot spot for tourists and a great business for college students to get a summer job. There are a few dedicated employees that have been with owner Lou Ventura since nearly the beginning — that’s almost 35 years. They’ve seen the various changes like the newest addition The Rooftop Bar, they’ve trained hundreds of new hires and they’ve made and remembered “your” drink, opened and closed up shop and helped make the restaurant what it is today. For those employees, it’s not only about making customers happy, it’s also about giving back to the community. Over the past two years, Ventura’s Greenhouse, along with its customers, helped raise over $20,000 for Alex’s Lemonade Stand in honor of a local girl who was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. They also help the Community FoodBank, Field of Dreams, Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation, and have fulfilled wish lists for more than 100 children during Christmas time. Ventura’s Greenhouse is a small part of a community with a big heart. And for many regulars and employees, the Greenhouse feels a lot like home. Ventura’s Greenhouse, 106 S.
