The team from A.C. Weekly and At The Shore will return to the NJPAs in April to pick up more awards.

The New Jersey Press Association just announced that Atlantic City Weekly won a total of nine awards in its statewide editorial contest — five of those were for first place.

They are:

First place: Best web project; AC Weekly Staff; 50 Bites+

First place: Best video; Editor Pamela Dollak, Associate Editors Ryan Loughlin and Rebecca King; “An editor tries a Shamrock Shake for the first time”

First place: Graphics & illustrations; Graphic Designer Krishna Mathias; “What’s Good Here?” logo, 50 Bites+ map

First place: Headlines: Associate Editor Ryan Loughlin; “A ‘pizza’ history” // “’Meat’ the contestants” // “Buns of fun — Burger Bash 3 brings hot grill-on-grill action to Golden Nugget”

First place: Special subject writing: Associate Editors Ryan Loughlin and Rebecca King; “Jackpot! — The best no-risk deals and steaks at A.C.’s casinos” // “A teenage triumph — Borgata celebrates 15 years in style”

Second place: Best video; Editor Pamela Dollak; “My flight with the Golden Knights”

Second place: Headlines; Editor Pamela Dollak; “Cut the crepe” // “Off the charts — Things for you to do, see and eat that have been written in your stars” // “Two timing — Hard Rock and Ocean Resort open simultaneously, changing landscape of A.C. for good

Third place: Arts & entertainment writing; Editor Pamela Dollak; “Cher and Cher alike” // “Wonder-ful”

Third place: General typography & layout; Graphic Designers Jill Metzger and Kathy Disbrow; “Health, Wellness and Fitness Expo” // “Raising the ‘steaks’”

The A.C. Weekly team will collect their awards at a gala dinner in the spring.
