Looking for something artsy to do this weekend? The Somers Point Arts Commission presents the annual “Art in the Park” at John F. Kennedy Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 15. Art in the Park features the work of a number of local, regional, professional and amateur artists for exhibit and sale as well as a “plein air” painting competition featuring artists painting on location.

Prizes will be awarded to both professional and amateur artists while attendees to the event will be given the opportunity to vote for the People’s Choice Award. Additional attractions include interactive art experiences, entertainment by the Tom Angello Jazz Trio and local favorite singer/guitarist Marc Wasserman. There will be a children’s clothesline art exhibit featuring the work of Somers Point students.

Interactive art activities for children include cardboard construction, collage corner, design and paint your own backpack, yoga and face painting. Food vendors include Jay’s Crab Shack, Upper Sandwiches, Maui Joe’s Shaved Ice and Mr. Ice Cream Man.

The event is free and open to the public. John F Kennedy Park is located at 24 Broadway in Somers Point.
