The Boneyard Bar & Grill has announced that it will shut its doors for good effective Oct. 1. One of the only spots in town to catch live original music, The Boneyard offered a pleasant change of pace from the endless parade of cover bands and tribute acts that dominate the city’s nightlife scene.
While no official reason was given for closing, the following message was posted on the bar’s Facebook page:
“Effective October 1st The Boneyard Bar & Grill will be closing its doors for good. The Boneyard family thanks everyone who had walked through our doors, whether it be for a rock show, punk, acoustic and even hip hop, or just came in for a beer! We have truly enjoyed serving you, our friends, strangers and our extended family.”
In order to give itself a proper goodbye, there will be a final concert held Saturday Sept. 30. The all-day event known as “Bye Bye Boneyard” will feature bands on both indoor and outdoor stages and will run from noon to 9 p.m. with a hip-hop after party closing out the night.
The Boneyard is located at 20 S. Virginia Ave in Atlantic City. Go to Facebook.com for more info.
