An Atlantic City landmark that closed recently is set to reopen. The Chelsea Pub, which sits in the shadow of Tropicana Atlantic City, abruptly shuttered its doors less than a year ago after being in business for decades. But things are looking up for the pub these days, as it has acquired new ownership.
The new owner, Zack Truppos, will not only reopen the business, but plans to re-hire around 50 percent of the staff that was let go when it closed in June.
No official date has been given for the reopening, but hopes are that it will happen in the next week.
Fans of the former version of it will be pleased to learn that a few renovations have taken place in order to polish it up a bit. A resurfaced bar, new tables, lighting and plumbing are all ready to go. Despite these upgrades the same atmosphere of the original bar will remain intact. And that includes the iconic Blues Brothers statues that sit above the entrance.
The Chelsea Pub is located at 8 S. Morris Ave. in Atlantic City. Go to ChelseaPubandInn.com for more info.
