WHAT TO EXPECT: O.A.R. started out as a local Ohio State University band and wound up graduating to become a national headliner within just a few years. The band’s early music was a mixture of reggae, folk, ska and roots rock music with lyrics detailing things like hangovers and poker games. Eventually O.A.R. signed with Lava/Atlantic and released “In Between Now and Then” in 2003. “Stories of a Stranger” was released in 2005 and contained the hits “Love and Memories” and “Heard the World.” In 2011 the band released “King,” which debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200. “The Rockville LP” was released in 2014. O.A.R. has thrived on playing college jam band music, but have also incorporated a more pop-oriented approach into recent releases.
